1. Information and Knowledge

   • Information is processed data
     • Students finished the race in 60s, 120s, 140s and 180s
   • Knowledge is information where rules have been applied
     • Shortest time is race winner, 60s is the winning time

2. Validation

   • Range check
     • Checks numbers are between a range
   • Format check
     • Checks correct mix of letters and numbers is entered
   • Presence check
     • Checks field isn't empty
   • Check digits
     • A number added to the end of numbers

3. Quality of Data

   • If the data is inaccurate then GIGO could happen when the data is processed
   • Accuracy
   • Fit for purpose
   • Data shouldn't favour a particular result
