Computer Programming

1. It is a sequence of instructions written to perform a specified task for a computer.

2. They translate from high level programming language into a Binary System.

3. Different languages, depending on the job that it wants to be developed:

   • For building a website,: HTML and JavaScript.
   • For building software: Java, C++, C#.

4. Program is a set of algorithms together

   • Algorithm: a series of steps to solve a problem

5. Programming Terminology

   • Source Code: The text code which makes up the program.
   • Editor – The program which you type your code into
   • JVM (Java Virtual Machine) – Piece of software on computers which runs Java bytecode Programs
   • JDK ( Java Development Kit) – Contains all you need to create your java programs!)
   • Compiler – Converts from user readable code to Binary System. (In the case of java from java source to java bytecode!
