1. Magnetic Storage

   • Disadvantage - Not as durable because there are more moving parts therefore it would read/write data slower.
   • Advantage - Cost effective because it has a bigger capacity therefore you can download more programs and save more files.
   • Floppy disks
   • Hard disk drives

2. Solid State ( Flash ) Storage

   • USB drive
   • Advantage - It has a faster read/write speed compared to Magnetic ; therefore it can load your files/programs faster.
   • Disadvantage - It's not cost effective therefore you won't get as much storage capacity as Magnetic.
   • Flash Memory

3. This is non-volatile. This is needed in a computer to store programs and run programs also store files.

   • Non-volatile means that the data is not deleted when the computer is switched off.

4. Optical Storage

   • CD/DVD
   • Blu - Ray
   • Disadvantage - It has limited capacity therefore you could put a lot of data onto it ; meaning that you would have to get alot disks.
   • Advantage - Very portable because it can go into any DVD player therefore it can go everywhere and you do not need wifi/internet so you can play it anytime.
