1. optical storage

   • advantages
     • more easily portible than solid state making it easier to carry around
     • more cost effective compared to solid state making it cost better
   • disadvantages
     • its not durible as solid storage so it can break easily
     • it has a limited capacity compared to solid storage so it cant store alot of programs

2. solid state

   • advantages
     • solid state has a higher read/write speed so it can perform tasks quicker
       • solid state is the most durible so it wont break
   • disadvantages
     • solid state has a much smaller capacity so it cant store that much on it
       • solid state is ot very durible and is not easy to transport

3. magnetic

   • advantages
     • it has a larger capacity than solid state so it can store more things on it
     • it is more cost effective than solid state but no as much as optical
   • disadvantages
     • it has a read/write speed slower than solid state so it loads programs slower
     • its not as durible than solid state so it can break easier

4. non volatile means that the data is not lost when the computer is turned off

5. volatile means that data is lost when the computer is turned off
