1. optical storage

   • Advantage- It is also cost effective.

   • Disadvantage- It is not durable.
   • Advantage- It's potable so can be used in multiple devices.
   • Disadvantage- It has a low capacity and so cannot much data or apps.

2. magnetic storage

   • Advantage- It is cost effective.
   • Disadvantages- It is not very durable due to moving parts.

   • Disadvantages- It reads and writes data slower in comparison to solid state.
   • Advantage- It has a larger capacity than solid state.

3. solid state (flash storage)

   • hard disk drive
   • Advantage- More durable and can read and write data much faster than magnetic storage.
   • Disadvantages- Less cost effective in comparison to magnetic because it has a much smaller capacity.
   • Advantage- It is more energy efficient.
   • Disadvantage- It has a limited read and write lifespan.

4. It is non-volatile storage.it is needed in a computer system to store your programs, operating system and files.

   • Non-volatile means that the data is not deleted when the computer system has no power connected to it.
