1. Binary searches

   • the binary search finds the middle value and looks if the value that it is looking for is bigger or smaller, it then gets rid of the other half and repeats the process until the desired value is left
   • e.g 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 find 7. is 7 > than 4.5 -Yes 5,6,7,8. is 7 > than 6.5 - Yes. 7,8 is 7 > than 7.5 - No. 7 is the only number left

2. What is an algorithm

   • an algorithm is a set of rules or instructions for a omputer to follow

3. linear searches

   • • e.g does 10=33-NO, does 14=33 - NO, does 19=33 - NO.
   • a search that just goes in the linear order that the list has been entered in. the computer goes through each one until it finds its goal.
