Secondary mindmap
magnetic
- Advantages
- cost effective compared to SSD (if you need storage) therefore reducing cost on computer hardware
- Disadvantage
- It's not very durable compared to ssd which means if you drop it its has a higher chance of breaking when it contacts the floor. this means its not very cost efficient.
- Advantages
Secondary storage is a non-volatile device which stores data permanently
Optical
- Advantages
- Very cost efficient so you are paying the right amount of money for the storage system
- Can be used to easily used to distrubute data
- Disadvantages
- It can get damaged very easily compared to solid state as it needs moving parts in order to read/write it's contents so if it falls or gets dropped then it will get scratch or break
- Advantages
solid state
- disadvantage
- It has a lower capacity than magnetic so it wouldn't be very helpful if you had loads of documents that takes up a lot of space
- Advantages
- Has no moving parts compared to optical and magnetic storage which means it is less likely to get damaged
- Has a quick read and write speed compared to magnetic so that you are more time efficient therefore you won't have to wait for ages for things to load
- disadvantage
