1. Magnetic Storage

   • High capacity (stores lots of data)
   • Less durable than solid state
   • Floppy disks
   • hard-disk drives

2. Solid state (flash) storage

   • Memory cards
   • Memory sticks
   • Solid state drives are more durable than Magnetic storage
   • It is not as cost effective as magnetic storage

3. Optical storage

   • It is cost effective, portable and can be used in a variety of devices
   • CD
   • Blue-ray
   • It can be easily scratched and damaged and it also has a low storage capacity

4. It is non-volatile storage. It is needed in a computer system to store your programs, operating system and files.

   • Non-volatile means that the data is not deleted when the computer system has no power connected to it.
