1. Optical Storage

   • Advantages
     • It's cost effective and portable.
     • Compared to Solid State, it's a lot more cost effective and it can have a lot larger capacity for a lot less money.
   • Examples
     • CD's
     • DVD's
     • Blu-Ray
   • Disadvantages
     • It's not very durable and has a limited capacity.

2. Solid State (flash) storage

   • Examples
     • Television sets
     • Speakers
     • Digital watches
   • Advantages
     • There isn't any moving parts so it won't break if you drop it compared to optical or magnetic.
   • Disadvantages
     • It's super expensive compared to optical and magnetic and it costs more to have a large capacity.

3. Magnetic Storage

   • Examples
     • Magnetic tape
     • Floppy disks
     • Hard-disk drives
   • Advantages
     • It's cost effective due to having a larger capacity than solid state.
   • Disadvanatges
     • It has moving parts so it's not durable compared to solid state.
