Python

1. Python is the most used programming language

   • Python is a programming language used to make software
     • It was created by Guido van Rossum, and released in 1991.
       • Many people used python such as:
         • Data anyalists
         • Mathmaticians
         • Software engineers

2. The steps given to a computer in an order for coding is called an algorithm

   • Decomposition is when you break down a problem into smaller steps to create an algorithm
   • A sequence is when a computer follows the coding one line after the other

3. Pythons development environment is called IDLE

   • IDLE stands for intergrated development environment
   • there are two types of modes IDLE
     • One is called Interactive mode
       • This mode allows you to see your results as you type them
     • the other mode is called Script mode
       • This mode lets you save your program and run it later

4. De-bugging is when a syntax error is taken out of a piece of coding

   • A bug is a mistake in a piece of coding

5. Indentation refers to the spaces at the beginning of a code line.

   • Python uses indentation to indicate a block of code.
     • Python will give you an error if you skip the indentation:
       • You have to use the same number of spaces in the same block of code, otherwise Python will give you an error

6. Python has commenting capability for the purpose of in-code documentation. Comments start with a #, and Python will render the rest of the line as a comment:

   • Comments can be used to explain Python code.
     • Comments can be used to make the code more readable.
       • Comments can be used to prevent execution when testing code.

7. Indentation refers to the spaces at the beginning of a code line.

   • A variable is created the moment you first assign a value to it.
     • Variables do not need to be declared with any particular type and can even change type after they have been set.

8. In programming, data type is an important concept

   • Variables can store data of different types, and different types can do different things.
     • You can get the data type of any object by using the type() function:
       • Variable is a locatiojn in nmemory in which you can temporarily store data such as text or numbers
