PREPOSITIONS

1. use

   • They are used to indicate relationships of place, movement, direction or time.
   • ome prepositions can have more than one use, such as in, at and on that are used to indicate place or time.

2. The structure:

   • A preposition always has an object, which can go before or after the preposition:
     • Preposition + object (+ modifiers)
     • Object + preposition (+ modifiers)
     • Object (+ modifiers) + preposition
   • Antecedent (+ modifiers) + preposition + object (+ modifiers)

3. Prepositions of Place: They allow us to know the location or position in space of one object relative to another.

   • Below: We use it when the subject or object is under another subject or object, but there is no physical contact between them
   • In: We use it when the object or subject is in a three-dimensional space, in a country or city, or when it is doing something within a place.
   • Under:wear low when you see what there is physical contact between both objects or subjects
   • Over:Use it to indicate that something is immediately on top of an object, and one covers the other
   • Above:Use it when something is on top of an object or subject but not necessarily directly or parallel
   • On:Use this pronoun when an object or subject is on a straight surface
   • At:Use this preposition, if the object or subject is in a specific place
   • In front of: This preposition is useful to us to express that the object or subject is located in front of another subject or object.
   • Between: It tells us when a subject or object is in the middle of two or more subjects or objects
   • Behind:We use it when the subject or object is behind another subject or objec
   • Across from:indicates that the subject or object is located directly in front of another subject or object
   • Next to: This preposition tells us that an object or subject is next to another subject or object

4. Prepositión of time

   • In prepositions of time, they tell us when an action occurs and how long it lasts.
   • Use IN when talking about
     • Times of day, Months,Years ,Centuries ,Seasons.
   • Use ON when talking about
     • Days of the week ,Dates .
   • Use AT when talking about
     • The hours, At public holidays , The expresión: *At the end of ,The expresión: *At the moment , The words: Nigth ;Midnight ;noon .

   • OVER
   • ALONG
   • ACROSS
   • INTO
   • TOWARDS
   • PAST
   • UNDER
   • THROUGH

6. Prepositions of manner

   • Prepositions of manner are those that help to express the way or manner in which the action of the verb is performed.

7. Prepositions of motion

   • Prepositions of motion are used to indicate any kind of displacement in space by a subject.
