Monitor (Screen)
- Displays information this is not need as a hard copy
- TFT (Thin Film Transistor) Monitor
- Thin flat pannel screens, used by desktop computers and laptops. The screen is made up of tiny pixels and each pixel has three transistors - red, green and blue. These coloris generate the intensity of each one.
- Advantages: they are very light so that's why they are used in laptops, they don.t take up lots of desk spaces, radiation given off is much less than CRT,they don't get hot, don't create a glare Disadvantages: not easy to repair, narrow viewing angle so the image is not as clear as CRT when viewed from the side.

- CRT Monitors
- CRT stands for cathode ray tube and these monitors are the older fatter monitors and take up more space than TFT screen
- Advantages: Can be used with a light pen to produce and edit drawings using CAD software Disadvantages: Bulky and takes up large amount of space up, generates lots of heat which makes room hotter in the summer, glare screen can be a problem, flicker can cause headaches and eyesight problems

Multimedia projector
- Used to project what appears on the screen off the computer onto a much larger screen for an audience
- Advantages: People can view a presentation, Can show videos to a large audience Disadvantages: Image quality may not be as high as when its seen on a computer, cooling pans on projectors make noise which can distract, image needs a darkened room otherwise will appear dim
- Used to project what appears on the screen off the computer onto a much larger screen for an audience
Laser Printer
- Laser printers are a type of printer that mainly companies and organizations use because they are quick. They only print in black and white although you can buy color laser printers but they are expensive.
- Advantages: Very quiet, supplies last long, high speed printing, very reliable, not wet pages so no smudging, cheap to run, high quality printouts Disadvantages: More expensive to buy, color lasers are expensive, power consumption is high, very large

Inkjet printers
- Cheap printers that are normal used at home and prints in color.
- Advantage: Relatively small, don't produce ozone or organic vapors, high quality, quiet, cheaper than laser printers Disadvantages: Ink cartridges cost a lot, ink smudges, cartridges don't last long.
- Cheap printers that are normal used at home and prints in color.
Dot matrix printer
- Used in offices and factories to print invoices, multi-part printouts. They may be seen as out of date but they are ideal for some places.
- Advantages: Can print multi-part stationery, used to continuous stationery ie stock check, invoices, relatively slow, cheap to run Disadvantages: Very noisy, low quality printouts, unsuitable for printing graphics, not many color printer, more expensive
- Used in offices and factories to print invoices, multi-part printouts. They may be seen as out of date but they are ideal for some places.
Graph plotter
- Ideal for printing designs, plans and maps, they are very precise at printing scale drawings. ideal for printing off the software CAD (Computer-aided design) also can print out on paper size A0
- Advantages: Used with large -sized paper or card, adapted and used as a cutter to cut out designs, high quality printouts Disadvantages: Slow and expensive to buy
- Ideal for printing designs, plans and maps, they are very precise at printing scale drawings. ideal for printing off the software CAD (Computer-aided design) also can print out on paper size A0
Speakers
- Any apllication which requires sound will need speakers or headphones to output the sound, ie presentations, websites, DVDs, CDs.
