1. Atoms consist of a central nucleus surrounded by shells of electrons

2. Nucleus is made of protons and neutrons

3. The mass of protons and neutrons is 1 and electron is 0

4. Protons- positive charge

5. Neutrons- no charge

6. Electron- negative charge

7. Overall the atom has no charge as the number of electrons in the shells is equal to the number of protons in the nucleus

8. Top number is mass number

9. Bottom number is atomic number

10. Number of protons is the atomic number

11. Number of protons and neutrons (nucleons) is the mass number

12. Number of neutrons is mass number-proton number
