searching and sorting

1. sorting

   • bubble
     • this sort goes through the list and checks if a pair is in numerical order
       • this continues until there are no swaps
         • it does this because otherwise it assuems its not ordered
   • merge
     • this sort splits a list into two different lists
     • the two llists are then split into four sets of pairs
     • you then check the pairs to see if they need to be switched based on numerical order
     • you then put the pairs back into two lists and those two lists go into one large list again
