Encryption
making your online information unreadable unless you/they have a key
keeping your info safe and secure
2 types of keys
- symetric key
- where each person has a key which is exactly the same.
- info can be send back and forth, ecrypting and decrypting
- if a key is lost the risk of criminals acessing your information gets higher and higher
- not secure enough
- public key
- sending info to the person with a key
- they use it to encrypt/lock the info and sends theirs back
- Therefore you don't have to share your key with anyone
- they use it to encrypt/lock the info and sends theirs back
- eg) a bank can provide a public key to browser
- so info sent to the back can be encrypted
- only the private key can open it
- more secure and more confidence
- only the private key can open it
- so info sent to the back can be encrypted
- sending info to the person with a key
- symetric key
