1. Benefits

   • Automatic Recalculation
     • When one content is adjusted, a spreadsheet will automatically update relating cells.
   • Graphs and Charts
     • Graphs and charts can be drawn so that its easier to visualise data and show trends.
   • Replication
     • A user can drag a formula down a spreadsheet so they will change depending on the row.

2. Formulas

   • There are 4 main types of formula.
     • =A1+B1
       • This will add cells A1 and B1 together.
     • =A2-B2
       • This will subtract cell B2 from cell A2.
     • =A3*B3
       • This will multiply the cells A3 and B3 together.
     • =A4/B4
       • This will divide the cell A4 by the cell B4.

3. Formatting

   • Coloured Borders
   • Formatting according to data type.
     • eg. Cells with money in them can be assigned the "currency" data type to automatically have a £ sign.
   • Cell Merging
   • Font & Font Style
     • eg. bold & italics
   • Background fill
     • Can be used to indicate whether a cell it too much/too little etc.
