Devices

  1. Input

    • Webcam
      • This inputs the recorded video onto the computer
    • Keyboard
      • These input data equivalent to the buttons pressed
    • Mouse
      • The mouse inputs data onto the screen equivalent to where the laser has gone
    • Buttons on bottom of monitor
      • These input data equivalent to the buttons pressed
    • Microphone
      • This inputs sounds onto your hard drive
    • Tablet
    • Games controller
      • It inputs data equivalent to the buttons pressed/the movement of the joystick(s)
    • Touch-screen
      • This inputs data equivalent to where the screen was touched
    • TV Remote
      • This inputs data equivalent to the buttons pressed
    • Ticket machine
      • This inputs data about the money on the credit card and sends that to a big server in the train station
    • Games console
      • This inputs data onto a TV screen equivalent to the movement of the controller/the buttons pressed
    • Interactive Whiteboard
      • This is basically a projector with touch-screen which is usually used in primary schools or with small children
  2. Output

    • Speakers
      • These output any possible sound you want. They're normally connected by wires to a computer or devices but you can get wireless ones. You select what sound you want on the device and then the command is transmitted(for wireless speakers) or delivered(wired speakers) to the speakers
    • Monitor
      • This outputs pixels equivalent to the picture that needs to be shown
    • Printer
      • 3D Printer
        • This does exactly the same as a normal printer just outputting 3D images
      • This outputs ink onto a sheet of paper equivalent to the formation of the pixels on the scren
    • Tablet
    • Fan
      • This propels warm or cool air towards a specific target to change its temperature
    • Television
      • This outputs pixels which form an image
    • Headphones
      • These output sounds like a speaker but are connected by wires into a separate connection and go over your ears meaning the sound is a lot quieter to others
    • Projector
      • These output projected images
    • Megaphone
      • This projects sounds at a louder volume
    • Ticket Machine
      • After being an input device, the ticket machine then outputs the requested tickets, the change and the receipt
    • Simulator
      • This outputs actions, sounds and movement equivalent to your movements or the buttons pressed.
    • Laser cutter
      • These output light onto a piece of acrylic
    • VR Headset
      • This inputs data equivalent to your movements and outputs simulations
    • Barcode scanner
    • Interactive Whiteboard
  3. Proccessing

    • Games console
      • This processes the data in binary code and then transmits that code into pixels on the TV screen
    • Mother board
    • Sky box
    • Network card
    • Sound card
    • Processer
  4. Storage

    • Hard drive
      • This is where every single piece of data to do with your computer is stored and is controlled by the mother board. If your hard drive or your mother board is damaged, your computer is screwed.
    • USB Stick
      • This is a small portable hard drive
    • Storage Disc
      • This works in exactly the same way as a USB stick, just has more storage and is less portable
    • Online signature
    • The Cloud
    • Itunes
    • CD
      • This stores certain music data depending on the CD bought
    • Floppy disc
      • A floppy disc is a more portable than a regular disc, but less portable than a USB stick. However it does have more storage space(usually) than a USB stick.
    • DVD
    • Microchip
      • A microchip stores specific data and can be inserted into a pet collar
