Creating Relationships.

1. A relationship is a kink between two tables. the links are made using a common field.

2. The advantage of linking or relating tables is that: it can reduce the amount of data which has to be sorted. It Also makes the searching and sorting of data more efficient.

3. A wizard is software that helps the user to complete a task, step by step. The user clicks on buttons and makes selections about data but does not have to know how the wizard works. An information handling package usually provides wizards for complex tasks, such as creating reports, queries and forms.

4. Users can create standard documents and merge records from the database onto the documents. This is called mail merge. To create a customised letter and send it to many people: Create the standard latter with mail fields. Select the data source- such as a table or query- to provide the records for the mail merge. Select the appropriate merge fields from the data source and include them onto the letter. Print the personalised letters.

5. A query facility allows users to seach or select records from the database which fit certain criteria. To carry out a query: Select a table, select fields from the table, enter the criteria run the query and view the results].
