computer science key work programming revision
Cards in this deck (19)
- 1Algorithm.A set of sequential instructions to complete a specified task.
- 2Iteration.Each step through a loop.
- 3Rogue Value.A value that falls outside the perimeters of the program.
- 4Variable.Variables are data values that can change when the user is asked a question.
- 5Data Type.An attribute of data which tells the compiler or interpreter how the programmer intends to use the data.
- 6String.Used for data values that are made up of ordered sequences of characters, such as "hello world".
- 7Integer.Values written and stored as numbers.
- 8Float.A number that has a decimal place.
- 9Boolean.A data type that has one of two possible values which is intended to represent the two truth values of logic and Boolean algebra.
- 10Selection.The process of making a decision.
- 11Subroutine.small blocks of code in a modular program designed to perform a particular task.
- 12Sequence.The main logical structure of algorithms or programs. When creating algorithms or programs, the instructions are presented in a specific correct order.
- 13List.An abstract data type that represents a countable number of ordered values, where the same value occur more than once.
- 14Array.A series of memory locations each of which holds a single item of data, but each box sharing the same name.
- 15Linear Search. The simplest method of searching a data set.
- 16Annotation.Documentation and comments that may be found on code logic.
- 17Incrementation.the process of increasing or decreasing a numeric value of by another value.
- 18AssignmentStatement sets and / or re-sets the value stored in the storage location.
- 19Deceleration.a language construct that specifies properties of an identifier
