Old Testament Prophets

Start with an overview

The introductory notes on the prophets offer a starting point for this section of Old Testament. They introduce major and minor prophets and describe prophets as preachers concerned with the present. Read the notes first, then use the other resources to focus on individual prophets and books. The materials on this page were made by GoConqr users, so each resource offers its own way into the topic.

Explore individual prophets

The Hosea and Amos mind map includes material on Amos, his connection to Tekoa and Bethel, and his attention to internal politics. The Daniel flashcards include the lion’s den, the writing on the wall, and terms associated with apocalyptic writing. The Jonah flashcards ask about people and places in the book, while the Jonah mind map offers another resource on the same prophet.

Combine maps and quizzes

After studying the Hosea and Amos map, try the Book of Amos quiz to practice with questions on that book. For Daniel, work through the flashcards before taking Daniel Practice Quiz. Its questions include symbols and chapter references. You can return to a map or deck after a quiz to look again at material you want to study further.
