About poetry analysis and techniques flashcards
GoConqr OriginalPoetry Analysis and Techniques flashcards
These user-made decks offer different ways into poetry revision. Poetic Devices covers terms such as metaphor, simile and alliteration, alongside examples. Ozymandias asks about the poem and its writer, while Medusa by Carol Ann Duffy includes questions on themes, rhyme and structure.
Build a revision routine
Start with Poetic Devices if you want to practise terminology. For a poem you are studying, choose a poem-specific deck and work through its prompts. The Horse Whisperer by Andrew Forster deck, for example, asks about form and stanza length.
Return to cards you find difficult and try explaining each answer in your own words. If you want to see ideas laid out together, switch to a mind map on the unit page; use a quiz when you want another way to test your recall. Try a set of flashcards on a poem you are studying.
