Reading skills and comprehension quizzes

The quizzes on this page approach reading in different ways. Some ask you to answer questions about a passage, while others focus on language techniques or the difference between fact, opinion and bias. There is also TOEFL reading practice, including a quiz about Teotihuacan with a negative factual question.

Choosing a quiz

For a focused start, try the quiz on fact, opinion and bias. Its questions let you practise telling those types of statement apart. If you want to work on how to answer questions, RUAE Quiz asks about understanding, sentence structure, imagery and word choice.

After a quiz, revisit any question type you found difficult. You could then try a passage-based quiz to apply the same approach to a longer text. If you want to review a technique before another attempt, switch to a mind map or flashcards on the unit page. Choose a quiz that matches what you want to practise.
