Using Verb Tenses Overview flashcards

These decks cover present and past forms, regular and irregular verbs, and questions. Present Simple includes conjugation, spelling and word order. Present Simple vs Present Continuous brings those two forms together, while Past Perfect (combine two sentences in the past) uses examples to combine past events.

Choose a deck and revise

Start with Verb to be (present simple) if you want to review forms such as “I am” and “they are”. For past forms, try the deck on irregular verbs in the simple past, or use the deck on regular past-tense pronunciation.

Work through a few cards at a time, then return to the forms you want to practise again. If you want a broader view of a tense, switch to a mind map on the unit page. A quiz offers another way to practise after using the cards. Choose a tense and open a deck.

Frequently asked questions

Which flashcards could I start with?

Try Verb to be (present simple) for forms such as “I am” and “you are”. Present Simple is another starting point, with cards on spelling, word order and questions. If you are practising past forms instead, look for the deck on irregular verbs in the simple past.

Are these flashcards free to use?

Yes. Every resource listed here is free to open and study without an account. The decks were made by GoConqr users. A free account also lets you save quiz scores and make your own quizzes, mind maps, flashcards and notes.

Which levels do these flashcards suit?

Most resources on this page are at secondary level. School students can use the decks to practise forms such as the present simple and past simple. Teachers can also browse them for ready-made material on particular tenses, verb forms and questions.

What can I do if I need more than flashcards?

Visit the Verb Tenses Overview unit page for other formats. A mind map can give you a broader view of a tense, while a quiz offers another way to practise it. You can then return to a flashcard deck to revisit specific verb forms.
