The process by which economies and markets , with the development of communication technologies , acquire a global dimension , so that they are increasingly dependent on external markets and less dependent on government regulatory action .

In the friendly face of globalization we can find the signs that characterize the most modern societies: integration and ease of communications, free movement of goods and the extension of human rights. These are signs of modernity that define developed countries and improve the lives of their citizens.

There are four main challenges that the countries of the world must face in order to participate adequately in the globalization process and mitigate its detrimental effects: the challenge of governance, the challenge of equity, the challenge of competitiveness and the challenge of identity.
