   • believed aggression couldn't be explained using traditional learning theory where only direct experience was seen as responsible for the acquistion of new behaviours.

   • Found that children who saw the model being rewarded for aggressive acts showed high level of aggression in their own play. This is known as VICARIOUS REINFORMENT

   • Repeated model, but after exposure to the model, offered rewards to all the children for performing the model's aggressive behaviours. In this case, all 3 groups performed a similar number of acts = SHOWS THAT LEARNING DOES TAKE PLACE REGARDLESS OF REINFORMENT BUT THAT PRODUCTION OF BEHAVIOURS IS RELATED TO SELECTIVE REINFORMENTS.

5. Phillips

   • Found daily homocide rates in US almost always increased in the week following a major boxing match. Suggests that adults imitated behaviour.

6. Kung San tribe A02

   • SLT can explain cultural differences. If Kung San children fight, parents don't reward or punish, they just seperate them.

7. Nobel A02 VALIDITY

   • Reported that when child arrived on lab, she said 'Look mummy is that the doll i have to hit'
     • Responding to criticism, Bandura produced a vid with a women hitting a clown, and children went into other room and hit a live clown.
