   • Oropharynx
     • The Mouth - passageway for air, especially for an emergency.Consisting of:Palatine TonsilTongue
   • Laryngopharynx
     • Laryngopharynx aka hypopharynx designed to provide structure and protect the opening to the trachea. Consisting of: Epiglotis Vocal Cords

2. LOWER

   • Trachea
     • Windpipe. Prtected by 16 rings of cartilage called the cricoid cartilage.
   • Broncial Passages
     • Trachea braches off at the carina forming 2 mainstem bronchi.
   • Alveoli
     • Maintem Bronchi turns into bronchioles ending with the alveoli. Tiny sac like, surrounded by pulmonary capillaries, and is where the exchange of CO2 and O2 are exchanged.
