why was there little progress in medician?

there was little progress in tn medicine because of the church. This was because bishops and priests told everyone everything in the bible was true and that god controls every aspect of life. This means that when disease came the church taught that this was gods way of punishing them. they taught this because they had no idea what was causing the disease so it was easier for them to blame it on god.

another factor to include was remedies. people believed that when you was sick remedies could fix it. for example there was the 4 humours, the theory of opposites, blood letting and astrology. if you had a cold you would eat soemthng hot or spicy , if your temperature was too hugh then you would eat something cold or cool. to get blood out of your body you would cut yourself which could lead to infections or put leeched on your body but this could be dangerous because if you put it on the back of your neck then it could stop blood from going to your brain and could cause death. another belief of curing something was using your start sign. astrology was a big belief then and told you how to cure it but with your sign. All these are based of supersticion but had lack of knowledge behind them
