French raids English
settlements
At the same time, the
Dominion of New England is dissolved. It had essentially lumped from NJ
to Mass. Into one huge boarder
The colonies don't want
anything to do with each other. They have no motivation to come
together over anything.
New England raises its own
troops to fight back against the French in Canada.
Their quest to capture
Quebec and Montreal fail miserably
"soldiers" get
angry
Bad weather

This is a treaty signed

No protestant wants that
North American colonies have
now expanded
Essentially, at the

Despite the war going

colonies
A time of peach follows this
war

Canada again anyway

way they did before
Manage to get Port Royal,
but still can't capture Quebec for same reasons as before

King George's War 1774-1748

King George II
German
A foreigner ruling
Britain, but that's ok because he isn't a Catholic
War of Jerkins's Ear
Jenkins is a slave
trader, but he's also smuggling things. Spanish search his ship, find
the smuggled goods, and cut off his ear which he then took to England
and complained about
British already though
that the Spanish were holding out on them (in terms of trade), so
Jerkins's Ear was another rallying cry.
British attack Spain and
fail
Peace comes in 1748
England trades Louisburg
away without colonist consent
Colonists get angry at
this
It also shows the Britain
doesn't care about colonist contribution
Capturing that city was a
BIG deal
New England tries to
capture Quebec again
Mass "soldiers"
attack Louisburg first this time and win at that but fail at capturing
Quebec
In response to Britain's
attack on them, Spain retaliates and tries to invade Georgia, but the
colonists hold their own and Spain fails
French join in on the war
now too
In the end…
Between the Glorious
Revolution and King George's War, 3 major and expensive wars have been
fought
The colonies still aren't
united
The wars haven't really
changed the balance of power in North America at alll
Britain has done very little
to help its colonists
The colonists think the wars
were worth-it to keep fighting because losing could mean they would be
controlled by a Catholic king, and they hated Catholics
The colonists had every
reason to believe that fourth war would be coming, and thought it would
look exactly like the past 3
They were right about a 4th
war, but wrong that it would look like the first 3
