Question Answer
Cytosol The fluid component of the cell, where all the cells organelles are suspended.
Cell wall Found in Plant cells. Rigid Cellulose structure that that provides support to the structure of the cell.
Mitochondria The Energy unit of the cell. The site of cellular respiration and provides the cell with ATP (energy). Composed of highly folded membrane to increase SA:V ratio
Golgi Complex Flat membranous sacs that are the site of final protein synthesizing and packaging (into vesicles) to be secreted out of the cell.
Golgi Apparatus Flat membranous sacs that are the site of final protein synthesizing and packaging (into vesicles) to be secreted out of the cell.
Vacuole Large and permanent in Plants - Provides support in structure and is enclosed in the Tonoplast. Small and Temporary in Animals - Very small and numerous found in the cell, Holds nutrients
Tonoplast Encloses the Vacuole
Prokaryote Smaller, Not complex, No membrane bound organelles and no nucleus e.g.
Eukaryote A complex cells, membrane bound organelles. Clearly defined nucleus. e.g. human cells
