Niche The ROLE an organism plays within a community
Community All the PLANTS and ANIMALS living in an ecosystem
Habitat The place where an organism LIVES
Biodiversity The number of DIFFERENT SPECIES living in an ecosystem
Factors which influence biodiversity are: Biotic and Abiotic factors
Abiotic factors NON-LIVING factors that influence biodiversity (moisture, light intensity, temperature & pH)
Biotic factors LIVING factors that influence biodiversity (predation, grazing, competition for resources and disease)
Examples of human influences on biodiversity Over-exploitation : Over-hunting, Over-fishing & Over-grazing Habitat destruction : Desertification & Deforestation Pollution
