Line 19 (Claudius not mourning)	Hamlet - "They clepe us drunkards" This demonstrates Hamlet's anger towards his Uncle for celebrating and having parties instead of mourning for his dead brother (may create subconscious thoughts and suspicions that Claudius is the reason for his father's death). Emphasises the segregation and distance mentally between Hamlet and Claudius.
Lines 41-42 (Questioning the ghost's motives)	Hamlet - "Bring with thee airs from heaven or blasts form hell Be thy intents wicked or charitable" Appearance vs Reality as Hamlet does not know whether to trust the ghost or not (by using juxtaposing language such as 'heaven and hell' and 'wicked and charitable'. Re-occuring theme of uncertainty in the character of Hamlet (just like the fact that he procrastinates the killing of Claudius throughout the whole play)
Line 90 (describing Denmark)	Marcellus - "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark" This could be foreshadowing the impending deaths of the principle characters at the end of the play. This may be describing the new king and the actions he took to gain his title. *'Rotten' - suffering from decay or something awful (Claudius)
