- 16What's the DOM?The Document Object Model is a representation of the structure of a HTML page that it is possible to interact with.
- 17What are the 5 methods available for selecting DOM elements?getElementById
getElementsByClassName
getElementsByTagName
querySelector
querySelectorAll - 18What does getElementById?Gets an individual element on the page by its unique id attribute value.
- 19What does getElementsByClassName?Gets all the elements that have the specified CSS class applied to them.
- 20What does getElementsByTagName?Gets all the elements of the page that have the specified tag name or element name.
- 21What does querySelector?Gets the first child element found that matched the provided CSS selector criteria.
- 22What does querySelectorAll?Gets all the child elements that match the provided CSS selector criteria.
- 23How to create a new DOM element in javascript, then add it to an existing element? (You need to get the existing element first)var outerDiv = document.getElementById("outerDiv");
var element = document.createElement("article");
outerDiv.appendChild(element); - 24How many parameters does the insertBefore javascript method have, and what are they?two : the element to insert, and the node before wich you want to append the new element.
- 25What are the properties available on a DOM element?childNodes
firstChild
lastChild
hasChildNodes - 26How to delete a DOM element in javascript, from an existing element (two ways)? (You need to get the existing element first)var innerDiv = document.getElementBiId("innerDiv");
var p = innerDiv.removeChild("document.getElementById("P1")");
or

autoplay
controls(add controls like "start"/"stop")

- 31What are the methods and properties of the object?Play()
pause()
volume
currentTime - 32What are the methods for drawing lines into a canvas?beginPath:Resets/Begins a new drawing path
moveTo:Moves the context to the point set in the beginPath method
lineTo:Sets the destination end point for the line
stroke:Strokes the line, wich makes the line visible - 33What are the methods for drawing curves?arc:A standard arc based on a starting and ending angle and a defined radius
quadraticCurveTo:A more complex arc that allows you to control the steepness of the curve
bezierCurveTo:Another complex arc that you can skew - 34What are the parameters for drawing an arc?X,Y:For the center of the circle
radius:Lenth of the distance from the center point of the circle to the curve
startAngle,endAngle:Starting and ending of the arc to be drawn (in radiant)
counterclockwise:Drawing direction of the arc - 35What are the parameters for the quadraticCurveTo method?controlX,controlY:Defines the control point, relative to the top left of the canvas, that is used to stretch the curve away from the line formed by the start and end point
endX,endY:The point where the curve should end - 36What are the parameters for the bezierCurveTo method?controlX,controlY:The first control point that is used to stretch out the curve
control2X,control2Y:The second control point that is used to stretch out the curve
endX,endY:The end point of the curve - 37What are the parameters for drawing rectanglesx,y:The starting position, top left corner
width
height - 38How to fill a shape with color?ctxt.fileStyle = "blue";
ctxt.fill();
(before calling the stroke method)
nb:it is possible to fill and create a rectangle in one call with the fillRect method instead of fill for example. - 39What can be a preferable approach between using canvas or SVG, when it comes to performance?Canvas. Because in an SVG rendering, the number of objects can increase a lot
- 40What values are available for the visibility property?visible
hidden
collapse (if applicable)
inherit (from the parent) - 41What's the difference between altering visibility property an altering the display property?If visibility is hidden, the page layout is preserved.
- 42What are the two forms of web storage?local : persistent, even if the user closes the browser.
session : durable only for the duration of the current session. If the browser is closed, it's over. - 43How to access the web storage API? (localStorage and sessionStorage)As the web storage API is available as a global object, you just need to use the "localStorage" object or the "sessionStorage" object.
- 44What are the methods available on storage objects?setItem (key value)
getItem (key or index)
clear
key (from an index)
removeItem (key value) - 45What's the purpose of AppCache API?It gives the ability to continue to work with web application when disconnected from an internet source.
- 46What components make up the AppChache API?the manifest file (to declare inside the html tag) : the extension is .appcache but can be changed by configuring the web server so that the chosed file extension is returned with a MIME type of text/cache-manifest.
a javascript API : window.applicationCache (global object) - 47How is compound the cache manifest?CACHE : lists all resources that must be catched
NETWORK : declareds any resources that must be available from the internet
FALLBACK : provides fallback instruction to the browser in the event that an item is not available in the cache - 48What are the methods and status property available for the applicationCache object?swapCache: indicates that the cache be replaced with a newer version
update: Tells the browser to update the cache if an update is available (the call is asynchronous, but it is necessary to handle the onupdateready event to determine when the update has completed the download process)
Uncached: the web application is not associated with an application manifest
Idle: the caching activity is idle, up-to-date
Checking: manifest is being checked for updates
Downloading: the resources are being downloaded
UpdateReady: the resources vace been successfully downloaded
Obsolete: the manisfest can no longer be downloaded, so the application cache is being deleted - 49What are the events available from the applicationCache object ?onchecking : the browser is checking for an update to the application manifest, or the application is being cached for the first time
onnoupdate : the application manifest has no update available
ondownloading : the browser is downloading what it has been told to do per the manifest file
onprogress : files are being downloaded to the offline cache. This event fires periodically to report progress
oncached : the download of the cache has completed
onupdateready : the resources listeds in the manifest have been newly redownloaded, and the swapCache method might be called
onobsolete : a manifest file is no longer available
onerror : an error has occured. This could result from many things. Appropriate logging is necessary to get the information and resolve - 50What are the three key methods that you need to interact with the geolocation API?getCurrentPosition
watchPosition
clearWatch - 51How to help reducing the possibility of naming collision?by using namespace!
ex :
var com = {};
com.Bookstore = {};
com.Bookstore.Book = {title : 'myBook'}; - 52What is the global namespace?This is where all the native javascript libraries live. It is referenced in the browser by the window object.
- 53What the "this" keyword refers to?to the containing object
- 54On what is based an object in javascript?On a prototype
