- 1Mutually Exclusive EventsTwo events CANNOT occur at the same time - ex. when tossing a coin, the outcome can be either heads or tails. It cannot be both!
- 2Independent EventsThe knowledge that one of the events HAS occurred does not effect the chances of the other event occurring also - ex. rolling a die, the outcome of your first roll has no effect on the outcome of your next roll
