Economic nationalism When countries try to 'protect' their trade by placing 'tariffs' on imports - didn't work as trading partners responded in the same way!
Emergence of German Nationalism The global depression helped Hitler to power in Germany. (1933) He set about a nationalist agenda that set him on a collision course with his neighbours.
League under pressure Japan invades Manchuria. Italy invades Abyssinia (Both members of the League's Council!) Disarmament Conference fails. Germany rearms and begins a policy of aggressive nationalism.
