Amiodarone HCL: ADVERSE REACTIONS Adult resp. distress syndrome, pulmonary fybrosis, pulmonary toxicity, CHF, Toxic epidermal necrolysis (rare), worsening of arrhythmias
Amiodarone HCL: CONTRAINDICATIONS severe sinus node dysfunction, 2nd&3rd degree AV block, bradycardia, hypersensitivity to iodine,(caution: hist of HF, thyroid disorders, severe pulm or liver disease
Amiodarone HCL: INTERCTIONS drugs: fluoroquinolines, macrolides, antifungals, digoxin, antiarrhythmics, cyclosporin, phenotoin, betablockers, calc-channel blockers, volatile anesthetics,lovastatin Herbs: St. John's Wort
Amiodarone HCL: ASSESSMENT -monitor ECG & HR & BP -signs of pulmonary toxicity -chest x-ray before therapy -resp distress -neurotoxicity
Amiodarone HCL: MONITOR (LABS) -Liver & Thyroid function -Alkaline phosphatate
