After Killing Duncan
- "These deeds must not be thought after these ways; so, it will make us mad."
- Structure, later on he does turn mad
- Instantly accepts that he committed the murder yet he wants to completely abolish the action from his memory.
- His ignorance of the situation will, later on, haunt him with insecurity and guilt will become less after each death
- "Macbeth does murder sleep."
- He sleeps cannot sleep anymore.
- Will be a consequence that perhaps drives him into insanity and loss of moral compass.
- As he murders sleep, he murdered the king, and therefore God, going against the divine right of kings and being sacreligious
- "I am afraid to think what I have done."
- Too scared to even listen to Lady Macbeth as he acknowledges the wrong doings that he has performed, yet the manipulation of Lady Macbeth corrupts him to carry on.
- Complete guilt, the emotions of post-murder is definitely shown here.
- "These deeds must not be thought after these ways; so, it will make us mad."
