Marxism
Marxism is a conflict theory founded by Karl Marx in the 19th century
- The main statement of Marxism is that there is a middle class (Bourgeoisie) and working class (Proletariat). The Bourgeoisie are the wealthy business owners who exploit the proletariat for profit.
- Marx believes that Capitalism is to blame for the social injustice of the Bourgeoisie and predicted that the workers will rise up against their capitalist owners
- Marx is also the founder of Communism which he believes is a safe haven for exploited workers
- The reason Marx wanted a revolution is because the Bourgeoisie use false class consciousness to exploit the proletariat by having them think they can climb up the ladder of social status
