      1. Devolved powers give the Scottish Parliament powers in certain areas only areas. In these areas the Scottish Parliament decides what happens in terms of law and policy.
        1. Areas the Scottish government can decide on are for example health, education and training, social work and local government, crime and justice and policing and fire services
          1. However some powers the Westminster government keeps (RESERVED POWERS) such as defence, social security and immigration. Nuclear energy and the constitution
      2. What has the Scottish Government done?
          1. When the Scottish Parliament was formed a number of powers were given to them but Westminster reserved some. (RESERVED POWERS)
