    1. Europe and the USA were far too modernised. They would "crush" Russia in 10 year if nothing was done
      1. All the minerals were in Siberia and the Urals. Too cold+ uninhabited there
        1. All the money was with a pocketful of rich. Rest were poor

            1. Unskilled + poorly educated workers
            2. First plan : 1928-33

                            1. More agriculture objects production
                            2. Third plan: 1938-WW2
                              1. Switch to consumer goods
                                1. BUT world war 2 cut it short in 1940
