1. Act One

   • Inspector announces he is there to investigate them on a girls death
   • After seeing a picture Birling admits to sacking her after the strike
     • Birling tries to justify firing her, he already paid them the going rate, why should he pay them more he would lose money from his company.
     • All the ring leaders got fired
     • They wanted higher wages to 25 shillings
   • Inspector talks to the family about the fact she was fired from Milwards
     • Sheila realises she was the one who fired Eva form her last real job
     • Sheila feels guilty and begins to think it was all her fault that Eva died
   • The name Daisy Renton is mentioned and Gerald admits to Sheila about his affair

2. Act Two

   • After Gerald and Sheila bicker the inspector steps in and takes over
     • 'Massively takes charge'
     • Priestly shows that the Inspector does not care where he is he will even take charge in a house that is not his
     • Gerald then goes out for a walk where he finds out the Inspector secret
   • Mrs Billing is shown the picture but refuses to admit that she knew the girl
     • She finally admits that she had met the girl two weeks earlier at her charity that she chairs.
     • She explains the girl called herself Mrs Billing and that she though it was a 'Gross Impertinence'
     • She explains that she turned the girl away as he should get the father of the child to fund her and the unborn child. Eva tries to explain she can not let him fund her as he is stealing the money.
     • Sheila realises that Eric is the father and tells her mother to stop but Sybil carries on telling them the father should be dealt with strongly, she then realises what she has said about her own son

3. Act Three

   • Eric tells his part of the story and his involvement with the girl, how he tried to marry her but she would not let him
     • Eric explains he stole £50 from the company to fund his baby and its mother. However Mr Billing did not care about his grandchild or the fact Eric was ting to support them he just cared about his money
   • Gerald returns with the news that he thinks the whole situation is fake. They call the hospital and the police station and Gerald was right
     • Mr Billing and Mrs Billing think that its all over and they are guilty of nothing
     • Eric and Sheila still feel guilty even though nothing happened
     • The whole thing turns out to be true
