        3. Conformity to a majority influence study - ASCH
          1. Conformity to a majority influence Asch: Ø Lab experiment Ø Assigned more confederates than participants. Ø Gave everybody three lines and a separate line and were all asked which line is most similar to the separate line. Ø Confederates were asked to deliberately recall the wrong answer. Ø Will participants conform? Ø Around 1/3 conformed, less conformed when the task was more difficult and when the confederates were inconsistent.
          2. Conformity to a minority influence study - MOSOVICI
            1. Moscovici: Ø Lab experiment Ø More participants were assigned than confederates. Ø Everybody was shown 36 blue slides, each with a different shade of blue. Ø Confederates deliberates said they were green. Ø Will participants conform? Ø Around 8% conformed which showed that people conform to an extent but the rate is not very high. Ø When the participants were able to write down their answer privately, conformity increased. Ø When the confederates were consistent and the task was made more difficult – conformity increased.
