1. Ejusdem Generis is where there is a list of specific words followed by a general phrase. The general phrase is made up of the connective words used in the specific list. The relevant example is powell v kempton racecourse, here the specific list was house,room, office or other place, they were trying to work out what other place meant, as the specific list were all indoors and the guy was holding a betting arena outdoors then he was not guilty.
