Social - People killed/injured- Homes destroyed.- Transport/communication disrupted.- Damage to infrastructure.- Water pipes burst/contaminated.Economic- Shops destroyed.- Looting.- Disruption of transport can affect trade.Environmental- Fires- Landslides- Built up areas obliterated.- Tsunamis can cause flooding.

Long Term

Social- Disease may spread.- People need to be rehoused, many are put into refugee camps.Economic- Expensive to rebuild infrastructure.- Most money will be invested into rebuilding and nothing else.- Income loss due to inability to trade.Environmental- Landmarks may be lost
