Tragic hero

He started of as a good person

Obsessed with becoming king, However the idea of killing putts him off

Downfall happens once he kills Duncan, he is paranoid about his crown

He stays brave until the end even though he is hated

Tragic flaw; Ambition

“Why if chance will have me king, why chance may crown me without my stir”

“ for brave Macbeth well he deserves the name “

“Yet I do fear thy nature. It is too full off three milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way “

He is seen as a hero figure in the war

Lady Macbeth thinks he is to kind to kill the king- ironic as he turns out worse than she does

“ Rapt withal”

“Doth unfix my hair”:

“If chance will have me king, why chance may crown me without my stir”

‘“I am in blood steeped as far that, should wade no more, returning were as tedious as going over”

“I will not yield to kiss the ground beneath young Malcolm’s feet”
