-Work content: the total amount of work required in mins
-throughput time: time for a unit to move through a process
-cycle time: average time between units of output emerging from a process - 4What is work in progress?number of units within a process waiting to be processed further. it represents money tied up in part finished goods that need storing, moving etc. so low WIP is more efficient
- 5how to you calculate the process? (little's law)throughput time= work in progress x cycle time
% throughput efficiency= 100*work content / throughput time
