- 1ASHRAMAStages of life - There are four stages of life according to Hindus (student, house-holder, retirement and renunciation)

- 15CONTRACEPTIONPreventing CONCEPTION or pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. E.g. - Pills, Condom, I.U.D., etc...
- 16AHIMSANon-violence as all life is SACRED and therefore must be respected
- 17SAMSARAThe cycle of birth, death and rebirth where the ATMAN (soul) is stuck, trying to achieve MOKSHA (liberation).

- 19BRAHMANUltimate reality that makes up the universe (UNIVERSAL ENERGY)
- 20VARNAA social caste or class system - there are 4 castes and a group outside the caste system known as the 'untouchables' or DALITS. Hindus believe that your caste is determined by your Karma from previous life.
- 21JATICaste based job or occupation, which is inherited. Laws of caste state that a Hindu must marry within his or her caste.
- 22DOWRYMoney given to the bride groom's family by the bride's family. This is now ILLEGAL in India. Yet, some people give money as a gift.
- 23SAMSKARAReligious or sacred ceremony - rites of passage. They are rituals performed at various stages of life from birth to death.
- 24MOKSHASpiritual liberation of ATMAN (soul) where it breaks free from the cycle of samsara to achieve moksha or reunion with Brahman.
- 25VARNASHARAMADHARMAVARAN(A) + (A)SHRAMA = DHARMA
Duties depending on the stage of life (Ashrama) and the caste system (Varna).
