WHAT IS ORDINAL DATA? The data collected is ordered in some kind of way. Attitude scales are a common example of ordinal data.
WHAT IS NOMINAL DATA? The data collected falls in to one of several separate categories. Age and shoe size are common examples of nominal data.
WHAT IS INTERVAL/RATIO DATA? The data collected is separated by equal intervals: seconds, minutes etc. Scores on memory test are common examples of interval/ratio data.
