PE What is a Tendon? What is a Ligament? Tendon - muscle to bone Ligament - bone to bone
Agonist muscle? Antagonist muscle? Agonist muscle - contracts and shortens Antagonist muscle - relaxes and lengthens
Isometric??? Isotonic??? Isometric - muscle contraction which shows tension but muscle does not visibly move. Isotonic - muscle contraction that results in muscle movement.
Eccentric??? Concentric??? Eccentric - contractions where muscle lengthens. Concentric - contraction where muscle shortens.
Example... Long Jump extension at the knee hamstrings - agonist quadriceps - antagonist isotonically working concentric
Example... Scrum isometrically working see tense muscles but not visibly moving.
