I will do this to get a true understanding of the challenges faced by children with learning disabilities in a school environment. From this I will be able to identify my target market, and discover a problem that I can create a product for. I will develop a better understanding of life with a learning disability and also how it impacts parents.

I will also look at learning aids that are available for children with learning disabilities and physical disabilities, that teachers currently use to help educate them.

This is important because it can help me relate with my target market more successfully, hopefully ensure meet all their needs with my end product.

I will make a mood board with a collection of products that currently are used to help children with learning disabilities. This will help me understand what ideas, and materials etc. are successful and give me possible ways that I could improve my end product. From this I will be able to get ideas for my own product, as well as learning vital information that could benefit my product. it could also help me decide what not to include in my product.

To analyse and evaluate an existing product, that helps children with learning disabilities. This is important because it gives me a better understanding of what important elements and features need to be considered when designing my product.

From this I can also work out how the product is made and manufactured but alos how it works in order to defeat the problem a child with learning disabilities has. It can also help me identify some of the negatives of current coping stratdgies and therefore I can try and avoid these in my product

I will examine a design strategy to give me ideas on the designing of my product. Doing this will show me what has been successful design strategies for successful designers and hopefully I will be able to adapt this so I am able to incorporate into my product.

I will also look into a company who have worked alongside children with disabilities. By doing this I will develop a greater understand of how disabled children adapt their lives in order to not forfeit their education.

I will take photos of a classroom, and examine and analyse them. From this, I can then get a good understanding of the challenges a child with learning disabilities might encounter and also the risks they might face. This is important because a classroom is the environment I plan for my product to be used in therefore I need to ensure it defeats a challenge faced by a child with learning disabilities.
