1. Software

   • Hardware

2. Main Memory

   • Data/instructions processed by CPU in main memory (primary storage)

3. Random Access Memory (RAM)

   • It is volatile (lost) storage device
   • Temporarily stores information

4. Read-Only Memory

   • It is a non-volatile storage device
   • Operating system, application software, data
   • Holds a small, special piece of software: the 'boot up' program.

5. Secondary / Back storage

   • Non-volatile
   • the name for all of the devices (apart from ROM and RAM) that can store data in a computer.
   • Examples of secondary: hard drive, a CD-ROM, a floppy disc and a USB
